Comparing loan & fixed deposit rates

With so many public & private sector banks offering a variety of loans & fixed deposits, it can become time consuming to find the “best” deal. Until now, India didn’t have an equivalent of bankrate.com, a site where US consumers can compare “mortgage rates, home equity loans, CDs, car loans, credit cards and money market accounts”.

There’s some good news though - in the form of a new site called apnaloan.com - “a loan marketplace where banks compete for your loans”. No luck for those wanting to compare fixed deposit rates - but it’s a start!
