Agricultural commodities bull
The Economic Times reports that India will need to import wheat this year, inspite of an increase in domestic production. ET also reports that “the government has denied imposing any restrictions on private traders for buying wheat from farmers, but said it will monitor the stock positions of these companies to check hoarding“. Both seem to indicate that wheat prices are likely to have a good run in 2007.
The latest Jim Rogers interview at Bloomberg also talks about a potential bull market in agricultural commodities, including sugar - an industry where India expects to have a record amount of production this year & sugar stocks have taken a beating. He also talks about the Chinese stock market mania & forex reserves, US housing & economic recession, commodity markets, etc.
