Master list of charting tools & sites for Indian stock market
I’ve previously pointed out my collection of “live” charts, accessible via the header on all GalaTime pages:
- BSE Sensex-30 index & its constituent stocks
- 1-month, 3-month & 1-year price charts; with moving averages & volume.
- NSE Nifty-50 index & its constituent stocks
- 1-month, 3-month & 1-year price charts; with moving averages & volume.
- Dollar:Rupee exchange rate
- Live quotes + 3-month, 1-year & 3-year price charts; with moving averages.
- Gold prices in Indian rupees (per gm & oz)
- Live quotes + 1-month, 3-month & 1-year price charts; with moving averages.
- 1971 - 2007 gold price chart
- American Depository Receipts (ADRs) of Indian companies
- 3-month (price/volume & relative strength) & 1-year charts
- Sector charts
- Live charts of stocks in these sectors: Banks, Capital Goods, Energy, FMCG, IT, Media, Pharma, PSU
However, this is not sufficient if you want to conduct technical analysis on a specific stock, compare multiple stocks within a sector, compare a stock to an index, etc. Hence I have started this master list of free charting tools & websites for investors & traders in the Indian stock markets:
- Yahoo Finance: US and India versions
- Historical prices, delayed quotes and charts (with technical analysis) for most Indian stocks & major indices.

This list is interesting. I however am looking for raw data so that I can generate the charts myself. I have found company fundamental data on http://www.hdfcsec.com and http://www.icicidirect.com. However, I cannot find data on historical index values. I can even get company historical prices from yahoo finance.
