Barrons: Does Extreme Stress Signal an Economic Snapback?

I wrote a related post for the Indian stock market capitalization to GDP ratio back in November 2007: BRICs: Market cap to GDP. The ratio is closer to 0.55 (55%) now. When the Nifty dropped to 2250 late last month, the ratio hit 45%, almost the same as that during the 2002 low.
